weekend away from luxury - our trip to Ossu

On the weekend my friends Thomas, Sam and I went to Ossu for fun. To get there, you have to drive from Dili to Baucau and then to Ossu.

Its 3hrs to Baucau, but totally worth it because there is an awesome fresh water pool at the end. Thomas and I practised backflips off the diving board

After a swim and a big lunch (I had my favorite, chicken vegetable soup) we hit the road to Ossu

On the way to Ossu we got stuck in a parade. We drove slowly and the people smiled and waved at us.

When we got to Ossu, we stayed a guesthouse near a river that had cave and a waterfall and was great for swimming. The food was good because we had chips everyday



We went for a big walk past a village where they were drying betal nuts. At the end of the walk was a huge cave that we got to explore. The caves were so big that Timorese resistance fighters (including the current President of Timor Leste) used
to live in there to hide from the Indonesian army


After an awesome weekend we drove back to Dili to our new home

    Hi Felix, your blog is awesome. We miss your happy face in Canberra. It is so cold here - the windscreen on our car had so much ice on it this morning.     Hi Felix, it is Nanna. I like your blog, it is interesting and tells us things about life in Timor Leste. Being part of a parade would have been fun and swimming in the freshwater pool sounds great. We were in Katoomba the other night and it snowed. You are hot, we were very cold. There was snow all over the roof of the car. Harvey is a cute little baby, have you seen any pictures of him yet? Your new house looks very comfortable.     Hi Felix it's me Hamish. How far back did you go in those caves they looked really dark. I wish I was swimming in the pool with you and jumping off the diving board I bet it would gave been heaps of fun. Your house looks nice. I am coming to visit next year I can't wait. I went to the lion king in sydney it was in a really fancy theatre. It was very loud but I enjoyed it a lot. I like reading what you have been doing. From Hamish :-)

      HI Hamish. In the caves we went too far back! It was a bit scary we even saw bats. I cant wait to see you next year. I really miss you. How is Lyneham going ?? Have you figured out how to join on Minecraft yet (on computer)?

      Dear Tegan, thankyou for your message. Timor is very hot and Timor is dusty. I am having a very good time. I hope you are well. There are lots of mossies in Timor. Now I am 6! I also lost 2 teeth 1 of my teeth is wobbly.

    Hi Felix, It sounds like you are having a awesome time. Your blog is really awesome. How is the view from your massive house? It is school holidays in the ACT. I have a new baby sister called Be a. she is 4 months old. I just made her giggle for the first time. Are you at school yet? if yes, do you like it? If no, what do you think it will be like?
