Dont go chasing waterfalls

Waterfalls waterfalls, lovely things, but  chasing them can be dangerous

Yesterday we went for a drive into the mountains south of Dili with all my friends looking for waterfalls. It was only 20kms aways but after all the rain and roadwork, the trip took nearly all day and we nearly got bogged in the mud and when we werent dodging mud that was deeper than Coco's height, we were avoiding falling off the edge of the road and rolling back to Dili.

In the end we found the waterfalls and had fun climbing, playing and making dams.

On the way back I noticed that my foot was covered with blood. Mum thought I had ripped the webbing between my toes. If I had, I would have needed stiches. Luckily it was just a little leech

This is me and my friends exploring the waterfall near Remixio

this is the waterfall

Today we found these coconuts had fallen into our backyard. I am going to share one with Coco. Yum Yum!

I'm in year 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Miss you all so much. Byeee!!!

Why did the chicken, goat, cow, dog and pig cross the road ?

Recently we went to Balibo for a weekend. Balibo is close to the boarder of Timor and Indonesia and it is famous because when Indonesia invaded Timor there were some Australian journalists who were at Balibo getting information about the Indonesians and they were killed by the Indonesian army in a matter of blood and gore.

You can visit the house that they were living in and you can see the Australian flag that they painted on the wall of the house to protect them. They thought that the Indonesians would not want to hurt Australians.

It was a long drive to Balibo and these are some of the animals that we found on the road. Driving in Timor is chaotic, you have to dodge kids, animals, guys with carts selling stuff, motorbikes and microlets. Here are some of the animals we found on the highway to Balibo
The chicken, known in Timor as Manu
The cow, known in Timor as the Karow

The Asu (Dog) and the Fahi (Pig)

We have not seen any Crocodiles (lafaek) cross the road yet, but we are watching carefully!

Thankyou for following my blog, I love your comments, they are really cool. I miss you guys so much

See ya ! Felix

holidays away from Timor - Bali and Singapore

In the School holidays I went to Singapore and then Bali.

Here are the top 5 things I noticed about Singapore

1. Marina Bay Sands and Gardens by the Bay are totally awesome and look like something from Doctor Who

2. It was actually clean and the train system was so cool (Dili is not clean). I could work out the train system and catch trains by myself and not get lost (but mum & dad wouldnt let me)

3. They have a TinTin shop and Dili does not

4. They have real lego (Bali and Dili lego is fake)

5. We went to the Night Safari Zoo and it was SICK. (Dili does not have a zoo)

Bali was good like always we took to the mountains and met up with some Canberra buddies in Ubud, Sulia and Malo. Did lots of walking around rice paddies, ate tacos, babi guling (pork), for breakfast everyday we had banana pancakes and our favourite - satay and rice. We saw 2 snakes near our house. Sulia and I joined on Minecraft and I bought a new diary made from bamboo paper.

Stay tuned for more adventures from Dili. I really miss you guys. I hope you come to visit.

weekend away from luxury - our trip to Ossu

On the weekend my friends Thomas, Sam and I went to Ossu for fun. To get there, you have to drive from Dili to Baucau and then to Ossu.

Its 3hrs to Baucau, but totally worth it because there is an awesome fresh water pool at the end. Thomas and I practised backflips off the diving board

After a swim and a big lunch (I had my favorite, chicken vegetable soup) we hit the road to Ossu

On the way to Ossu we got stuck in a parade. We drove slowly and the people smiled and waved at us.

When we got to Ossu, we stayed a guesthouse near a river that had cave and a waterfall and was great for swimming. The food was good because we had chips everyday

We went for a big walk past a village where they were drying betal nuts. At the end of the walk was a huge cave that we got to explore. The caves were so big that Timorese resistance fighters (including the current President of Timor Leste) used
to live in there to hide from the Indonesian army

After an awesome weekend we drove back to Dili to our new home
