You can visit the house that they were living in and you can see the Australian flag that they painted on the wall of the house to protect them. They thought that the Indonesians would not want to hurt Australians.
It was a long drive to Balibo and these are some of the animals that we found on the road. Driving in Timor is chaotic, you have to dodge kids, animals, guys with carts selling stuff, motorbikes and microlets. Here are some of the animals we found on the highway to Balibo
The chicken, known in Timor as Manu |
The cow, known in Timor as the Karow
The Asu (Dog) and the Fahi (Pig)
We have not seen any Crocodiles (lafaek) cross the road yet, but we are watching carefully!
Thankyou for following my blog, I love your comments, they are really cool. I miss you guys so much
See ya ! Felix
Hi Felix,
ReplyDeleteGreat blog post! I really like seeing the photos of the local animal population. It must have been interesting to visit the house in Balibo? I saw the movie and it was a very interesting story - those journalists were brave!
We just got three chickens. Ask your dad to look at our Facebook cage - the chicken coop we built is pretty cool.
Take care and I look forward to your next post.
